Here are some resources to assist journalists who cover mathematics, mathematicians, and mathematics-related meetings and events.

Math Contacts and Math Contacts by Topic
The JPBM (Joint Policy Board for Mathematics) Public Information Resource Committee provides a list of mathematicians to whom questions about their specialties can be directed.

Media Contacts at Math Organizations
Here are contacts at the American Mathematical Society (Providence and Washington D.C. offices), Mathematical Association of America, and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

Mathematicians (biographies, genealogies, directories)
The MacTutor History of Mathematics Archive provides an Index of Biographies in alphabetical or chronological order. There is also a subset of women mathematicians. The site also includes timelines and birthplace maps.
The Mathematics Genealogy Project is a searchable database of over 74,000 records, and includes the nationality, degree-granting institution, advisors and students of each mathematician.
SACNAS Biography Project. The Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science has organized profiles of scientists, mathematicians and engineers by last name, by subject/discipline, by grade level, and by women scientist.
The Combined Membership List is a directory of mathematicians who are members of the American Mathematical Society, American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, Association for Women in Mathematics, Mathematical Association of America and Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

Mathematics Journals
A list of mathematics journals with articles on the Web and a list of Web sites for printed journals. This page enables you to access information on, or contained in, these journals (e.g., tables of contents of issues, abstracts of papers, actual papers, information about submissions and subscriptions).

This site provides links to guides to math literature, directories, organizations, people, servers and other resources that can be useful to writers covering mathematics.
